I was brought up with a healthy dose of a "get over it"-mentality and don't like to dwell on problems. I weigh up possibilities briefly and I don't lose momentum when I have to break new ground. Per se, this is a helpful characteristic in life. To make it a strength though, you need teammates like mine, who sometimes say: "Maybe option A is not impossible after all. Let's get to the bottom of it first".

Who are you / what is your background?

After studying economics, I spent 5 years in strategic management consulting. There, my focus was on the automotive industry, where I accompanied projects for different brands in Germany and Spain. After moving to Switzerland, my career path changed and I entered the insurance industry. I enjoy spending my free time with family activities, long walks with my dog and travelling. Even though I live near the mountains, I definitely prefer any kind of sea.

Your job @ Yarowa: What do you do

I am “Head of Health” in Germany and together with my team I ensure that both - insurers and medical experts - feel right at home on our platform.

What brought you to Yarowa? What is your background?

At Zurich insurance and Allianz, I was able to build up insurance knowledge, mainly in Underwriting and Product Development. After many years in large corporations, I made a conscious decision to join Yarowa. Through my time at Zurich Insurance, I already knew some key players at Yarowa and was sure that working there would be exciting and that it would be fun!

Why do you like working at Yarowa?

I like structure, clarity, and efficiency – and that's exactly what our platform offers our customers. Our product may not be emotional or tangible, but together with our clients we can constantly improve it and offer new functionalities without further ado. I have often missed this direct and fast influence in other jobs.

Your job @ Yarowa: What do you do

Business Requirement Engineering, Configuration, Testing, demos for potential customers, managing our Jira board and I am the reporting lead working with SQL and tableau. A lot of different things, which I really like.

What brought you to Yarowa? What is your background?

My interest in IT young companies with a sexy and disruptive product. Working in young companies gives you the opportunity to develop different skills in your personal and professional areas.

Mechanical engineer with a master's in big data and analytics. I have worked as a cybersecurity consultant and innovation consultant.  That initial positions sparked my interest in IT companies...

Why do you like working at Yarowa?

Opportunities and new challenges every month. You can learn as much as you want. Your appetite will set the limits at the company. Young company where employees can be part of shaping company culture.

From being a post-graduate in History & Sociology to Quality assurance personnel in Yarowa, it was never short of hard work to be where I am today.

Currently, I do quality assurance for 5 countries where we have gone live.

By profession, I am a social worker but due to the travels of my husband, I did different jobs before coming to Switzerland. Once I got my work permit, I had the opportunity to start as a test lead.

Why do you like working at Yarowa?

The freedom that Yarowa has given me has encouraged me to be proactive, fearless and a warrior.

I came across this quote when I was travelling in Ireland during my studies. It was a time when I was free to choose what I wanted to do every day. While since those days, my life is not that flexible anymore … , I still sometimes cannot resist temptation. Be it when it comes to nice food and drinks with friends or also when I left the well laid-out path in the insurance industry to start all over again with Yarowa.

Who are you / what is your background?

I’m a lawyer, worked as an attorney for a law firm in Zurich as well as in different roles in the legal and compliance function with Zurich Insurance for approximately 10 years. Working in Legal I was fortunate to have insights in a broad variety of areas and work with a lot of interesting persons, from whom I could learn a lot. In my private live I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, be it while travelling or e.g., on our terrasse balcony having a barbecue and some drinks.

Your job @ Yarowa: What do you do

I wear more than one hat at Yarowa – on one hand, together with my team, we are responsible for all the legal, compliance and governance topics. On the other hand, we are also responsible for the lawyers’ network. Beside that I’m also a member of the board. Overall, a very interesting and broad variety of topics – which is very exciting.

What brought you to Yarowa? What is your background?

It all began with at a nice dinner, at a time, when the entire idea was only on ppt. I was immediately fascinated by it and wanted to be part of the journey. That’s why I’ve been with Yarowa since the beginning. Having been General Counsel and Head of Compliance of Zurich Insurance Company in Switzerland I could bring both, some insurance and legal know-how to the table...

Why do you like working at Yarowa?

I love to work in an environment with a lot of interactions with colleagues and customers and where you have the chance to create, shape a solution and take fast decisions. But the biggest motivation is to see what the entire team has built and achieved over the last years and how everyone is still pushing every day to further improve our product together with our customers.
